Dear universe,
Yesterday I bought a small netbook, namely, an Eee PC 1005HA from J&R computer world. It came with Windows, which was a little bit scary for me, but I quickly wiped it off and several hours later had Ubuntu booted up and installed from a flash drive. By several hours into the next morning, I had wired internet, and five minutes later than that I had wifi as well. Hooray, finally! Since then, Skype has been set-up as well as mpd and several other goodies.
The remaining loose ends are a lack of a terminal beep, and no trackpad scrolling. Have no fear, internet! These are soon to be tackled.
Much love from a tiny screen,
kazemi
