We're currently running the crazy patchwork 1.8.1 we've always run... the one that organically grew and is a bit scary and has huge memory leaks.
I have been working on -- well worked on for a bit, a patched 1.8.3 in subversion
svn://mongoose.moo.mud.org/server
It's 1.8.3-WAIF, with patched in FUP, and martian and goblin extensions.
It's a lot more stable -- I gave it to the kids at Macrocosm and they've been using it for their server just fine. The only thing is it has no unicode support.
Question for you all becomes what's more important: having to restart the server every week or so or unicode support?
