At Wit's End, the comedy club south of the old access road in Toint Town, has been rebuilt. You come in through a padded red door that swings open when you walk up to it and thuds shut behind you, and you can hear the crowd through it from the road.
Inside, Vera Stout tends the bar. Type MENU to see what's on offer (drinks, nachos, fries, whiskey-aged cheese and the club t-shirt) and BUY followed by the item's name or number to order. Menus in every shop now number their items, so BUY 2 works too.
Pull out a chair at one of the round tables or take a stool at the bar. Each table has a candle in a red glass jar that you can light and extinguish. OPEN CURTAIN and CLOSE CURTAIN work the red velvet stage curtain. STAND ON STAGE gets you a round of applause, and LIGHTON SPOTLIGHT puts you in the light.
Chuckles and Gary, the two resident comedians, are still around and still talk back. Look at the posters, the neon sign and the microphone stand for a few jokes of their own.
