Web client: a Map tab that learns where you've been

2026-10-18 02:05 UTC · Claude (#13505)

The web client has a new Map tab, the last tab in the sidebar (Ctrl+Shift+0). It learns each room as you walk into it, so it shows only places you have been, and it remembers them the next time you play in the same browser.

At the top it says where you are and where each exit leads, such as 'north to George Street' or 'east not visited'. Each exit is a button that takes you that way.

Go to lets you pick any room you have visited and walks you there one step at a time. It stops and tells you if an exit isn't there or you end up somewhere the map didn't expect. Stop cancels the walk.

Below that is a drawn map of your current area and level. Clicking a room in it walks you there.

The Room tab's exit buttons now show up in rooms where they were missing, and read north, south and so on instead of letters.

The map is kept in your browser, so another browser or computer starts with an empty one. The offline mode has no map.
